This year has seen a lot of transition for me. Case in point? I started three jobs over the course of eight months. Not to mention those job shifts took me from campus ministry to administrative work and data entry to a call center to a startup.
I have no doubt this season brought me closer to the Lord. Weeping over Scripture, straight up shouting in the Adoration chapel (when I was alone, I'm not a monster), and music. Just music.
All of the songs below--and some others!--gave me truths to reflect on, concrete lyrics to pray, and a sense of belonging. I am not the first, nor will I be the last, person to feel overwhelmed and uncertain and what in the heck is happening about some season of life.
The following verses resonated with me and became points of reflection in prayer.
"I will climb this mountain with my hands wide open." - Nothing I Hold Onto
"And I'm clinging to the promise You're not through with me, yet. So if all of these trials bring me closer to You, then I will go through the fire if You want me to." - If You Want Me To, Ginny Owens
"You are safe in the arms of the Father. You are safe in the arms of the Father. You are safe in the arms of the Father." - Holding You, Matt Hammitt
"And I steady my heart on the grounds of Your goodness." - Good to Me, Audrey Assad
